This fracture was the handiwork of Jack Parrot (otherwise called Jack the Grinder), who broke into the palace of the Bishop of Norwich. No prisoner except Edgeworth Bess was placed in the same cell with him. He's rewriting Poe and De Maupassant; and that stuff was good only when Poe and De Maupassant wrote it.
